Neutral Colours and a Birdie

Just a quick post. The last one for May. The Winter is finally here but for most of you it's the long awaited Summer. Wanted to show you one more finished project. A drawstring bag and a bib for a baby. Neutral colours and a small summery print make it perfect for both girls and boys.

Pretty Little Fairies

I've had this pink fabric with pretty little fairies for a while but was not sure what to use it for. After I made the log cabin zippy, I thought that a little pouch would be a great idea for this print. I was going to make one with a zip but instead I came up with this.

Strawberry Patch

This is how I am going to call this bento drawstring bag. So deliciously sweet it is! I absolutely love how these two prints go together. Morning dew, pretty strawberries and a bit of gingham ribbon truly complement each other.

Berry Picking and Cookie Baking

I was busy yesterday cookie baking and strawberry "picking". These sweet berries just kept popping out of my sewing machine and my hands one after another. So cute and so addictive!

Fabric Stash: A Shopping Spree

Me, who really doesn't enjoy shopping, ended up going on a shopping spree... online... while I still had my cast on. It was a great excuse to buy more fabric and feel a bit sorry for myself. Hee hee... I suppose I should forget all about trying hard to use fabric that is in my stash only and admit that I have an addiction. A fabric addiction, just like many of us have. And admit that I love shopping for fabric.

Mama's Little Helper

May I show you something precious? Do you see these two little aprons? Well, they are very special. No, no. I was not the one who made them. It was my Dear Mama who made them many years ago for my son when he was tiny.

You see, even after suffering two strokes and losing partial control in her right arm and hand, Mum kept sewing, knitting, embroidering and crocheting. The things she produced were not as neat and delicate as before the strokes and she complained a lot at times. But with time passing by, Mum learnt to simply enjoy the process and ignore the crooked lines and stitches, but it was not easy.

It's Lunchtime, Baby!

Phew! It's finished! At last! It took me sooooo long to finish this project. I don't know why but I kept putting it aside after just a few stitches over and over again. But earlier this week it all came together and I managed to finish this project in pretty much one go. I'm glad I did.

Fabric Stash: Useful Scraps

I bought some scraps. Yep, fabric scraps. Two bags full of small bits and pieces and a few bigger offcuts. Oh, and a few handmade buttons as well. These scraps are not something that you might want to call delicious or pretty. These are upholstery and furnishing fabric scraps. Mostly screen printed linen and hemp. Not my usual choice of fabric but something that might be used quite creatively I think. I was hoping to find some medium weight linen for my envelopes at that particular store, but found this instead.

Feeling Productive

Just popping in to tell you that I am feeling quite productive today. I have finished one of the things on my very looooong To-Do list. Yay! And the best thing is that I used my all time favourite Walk in the Woods fabric by Belle & Boo. Again.

Fabric Stash and Pincushions

How many pincushions do you have? Do you always use the same one or you like to have a few around? Is there a limit to how many pincushions a girl should have in her sewing room?

Organise and Beautify

You probably have seen a new addition to my sewing nook - a ticker tape sewing machine cover that I absolutely love. Well, I have made something else using the same quilting method. Something useful and quite pretty.
